Haryana Partners with Medanta to Boost Maternal & Child Care

The Haryana Health Department is set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Medanta Foundation, associated with Medanta Hospital, to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services at the sub-district hospital in Ateli and community health centres in Farrukhnagar and Mirpur.

Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said the partnership will operate under the public-private partnership (PPP) model and focus on modernising labour rooms and caesarean section operation theatres, while also improving neonatal care, diagnostic facilities and ambulance services.

The collaboration will additionally prioritise skill development and capacity building for healthcare personnel. Initially proposed for a three-year period, the agreement may be extended further based on mutual consent and performance evaluation.

Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Sumita Misra said the state government has launched an execution-focused campaign to accelerate hospital infrastructure projects and strengthen monitoring mechanisms.

The government has also instructed officials to ensure accountability for delayed healthcare projects and expedite pending works across Haryana, including projects in Ambala Cantonment and Bhiwani district, to facilitate timely delivery of improved patient care services.
